Celebrating Colourful Souls
At “Silks To Dye For” we believe that every farewell should be as unique as the life it honours.
We create hand dyed, custom coloured, smooth gradient silk veils designed to drape and wrap you or your loved one, adding a personal and meaningful touch to the final journey.
Whether you seek soft pastels, deep earth tones or vibrant hues that reflect life, our veils offer a beautiful alternative way to express love and remembrance
The Healing Power of Colour
In holistic traditions it’s believed that colours carry their own vibrations, energetic frequencies that can influence our bodies, hearts and minds.
Our silks are designed with this in mind, to catch the light, flow gracefully and bring comfort, peace and beauty during the profound journey at the end of life and death
How Our Silks Can Be Used
❖ As gentle coverings before and after death
❖ During palliative care as a covering over the bed clothes
❖ Our veils allow easy access for carers during the final stages of life, offering a comforting, gossamer light touch when little else is needed
❖ Lying in honour
❖ Draped over a plain shroud
❖ As a Coffin or Urn cover
❖ Pall signifying dignity, respect, a spiritual shelter
❖ A keepsake - a cherished memento
These silks have been used in colour and healing meditation, palliative and after death care

Caring for Your Silk
If a silk is kept as a family keepsake it can be gently washed by hand using a delicate wool wash or velvet soap and air dried; a warm iron can be used to restore its shape for storage in its original box.
Please note that hand dyed silks are fragile and may naturally lighten or change over time. For instance if flowers are placed on the the silk, or oils or water used it a may leave marks on the fabric. This is ok as this is how the silks are intended to be used, in vigil or lying in honour, to be lifted and placed, touched by family and friends as they spend last moments with a loved one. Serving as a gentle reminder of their journey with you.
